Oh BIG BOY...

So today I had an ultrasound due to the fact that Max was so large when he was born and my family has a history of large babies. Everything looks great! He's going great, I'm doing great however he's HUGE!!

Right now I am 35 weeks 2 days along...however according to the Ultrasound I'm measuring 37 weeks 3 days. Yes, that's right I'm measuring 2 weeks and 1 day ahead of schedule. What this means, I have no idea but I will find out more at my regular appointment this Friday. Both Ray & I can't imagine that they would allow me to go beyond my March 2nd due date based on this information, if they even allow that, they may opt to induce me earlier.

They estimate the baby right now to be about 7lbs. 7oz...which again is ENORMOUS! The average baby at my point in the pregnancy should weigh about 5lbs.10oz. To add to the HUGE factor, they estimate that at this point in a woman's pregnancy that the baby gains anywhere from 1/2 - 1 lbs per week...OH DEAR GOD...do the math...that's potentially a 12 pound baby, if I go full term! Again, I'll know more on Friday at my appointment as to what their plan is for me. However, my friend, Lisa who as many of you know, is in the medical field thinks that they will do a test on the lungs at about 38 weeks and if they are developed they will induce me. Oh my that's in like 2 1/2 weeks!!!

Needless to say we are a mixed bag of emotions...we were totally in the mentality that we'd have a kid the 1st or 2nd week in March but it appears he may enter the world a bit earlier than we expected...or he'll arrive when we expect but be ENORMOUS! I'm hoping he's not TOO big because I really don't want a C-section but if I have to then so be it, right?

We're making some progress on the room and the paint will be going up on Saturday! YIPPEE! Then the carpet hopefully within the next 2 weekends after that. Then it's just moving in stuff and setting it up. Finally here are some photos taken just tonight of the room...

Max is getting very excited for his brother to arrive but I think senses the change coming and has been VERY attached to my hip lately and wants to be with me all the time (which I love of course). I think he's going to be an amazing brother but I'm sure he'll go through some phases and adjustments to having another little one in the house.

So that's it for now. I'll be updating this more often now that we are in the home stretch. Here are a few photos of Max...The days of having a "normal smile" are long gone...so now this is what we get when we say "SMILE!"

Love the pics! If you need any help this weekend, let us know. I am not much of a painter, but we would be happy to help...May go faster with 4 people than 2.
